dark shadows of shame
she shuns away
striving higher
avoiding parts
she won’t, she can’t
let herself see
we believe the lie
that she is better, stronger
more than us
we shirk
who writes this fiction?
and why do we blindly worship it?
to strive or to shirk
the suffering is the same
let’s shed this old story
that keeps us in a cave
of striving and suffering
there is no pedestal of worth
let it die
by letting her come down
let her show you her darkness
while you share your own
down below
