Tip to Restart

Why is it harder to restart than to start something new?

Tip: Get Clear on your Saboteurs

Our self-sabotaging ways

Let’s think something through together…
Bring to mind a healthy habit which, in the near or distant past, you were committed to.

Whether a workout schedule, a monthly date with your partner, or a no-eating-after-dinner boundary - you likely felt really good about yourself.  You felt energized by your resolve to commit to something which, at the outset, you may have doubted your stick-with-it-ness.

Then - something changed.
You got bored of the routine, work got too intense, you got sick, COVID…and the list goes on.

But that wasn’t entirely all, was it?
On top of your circumstances changing, did you judge yourself for giving up?
Did you tell yourself on some level that you were a failure?

Our minds find very subtle ways to self-sabotage, even (especially) when it comes to the routines and habits which help us grow and feel our best.

Get Clear on your Saboteurs
A huge starting point is to notice and name the ways and labels we use to self-sabotage.
Without this critical first step, we’re constantly carrying these heavy, dirty garbage bags around with us every step of the way.  Our saboteurs can be LOUD.  They have been engineered by our mind to hijack and derail us.
And we can all think of examples where we’ve talked ourselves out of something we wanted through a narrative which went something like this: I don’t have time, I’m not good enough, I’m just never going to be a fit person, other people have better intimacy than we do and it’s just not something we’re good at.

I want to help you get clear on your saboteurs.

For the remainder of 2022, I’m offering a FREE Saboteur assessment + 1-hr 1:1 Coaching Session to help you identify how you self-hijack. Together, we’ll come up with a proactive plan for your next steps.
