permission to quit

Why does quitting have to equal failure in our minds?

This past week, I heard something revelatory.

One of the participants at a panel talk I hosted shared that he quits things all the time.

Whaaat?!

Yes, he smiled innocently, with a lightness and joy as he uttered that phrase.

He went on to explain that he’s come to learn that he’s a very curious and enthusiastic person which means he gravitates towards a lot of different things. His creative process involves giving himself permission to quit midway through starting stuff if it’s not the right fit for him.
How freeing.
Now, this man is no flake. He’s created quite a successful life and career with impact and care. He brings heaps of integrity and thoughtfulness to what he does, so clearly there’s follow-through ‘til the end on certain things. Quitting doesn’t equal failing.

Paradigm-shift.

What if I could reframe what I dub quitting as, instead, evolving?

Do any of these other self-limiting beliefs speak to you?

  • Procrastination means I’m lazy

  • Making mistakes means I’m defective

Pretty harsh, huh?

What if you could reframe the limiting self-talk you unconsciously believe into something more positive and productive?

If you are looking for a powerful and practical new approach to rewire your own sabotaging thoughts, join me this or next week for my Fall Tune Up Workshop.
